Emily Small

Emily received a Bachelors of Fine Arts from The Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters of Arts in Modern and Contemporary Art History, Critical and Curatorial Studies from Columbia University. Between 2022 and 2023 she was a Helena Rubinstein Fellow at the Whitney Museum of American Art’s Independent Study Program (ISP). 

Recent projects have taken place at Artists Space in New York, Textiles Art Center in Brooklyn, and the Wallach Art Gallery, in New York. Most recently she has written contributions for Climate Control in San Francisco; Performa Biennial in New York; Margot Samel Gallery in New York; and The MODA Critical Review in New York, where she also served as editor-in-chief. 

Emily (she/her) is currently based in San Francisco, California.
